My Favorite Widgets
Here are 10 of my favorite widgets, and what they do:
1) |
Weather—I monitor the next three cities I’m traveling to. |
2) |
Countdown—I keep an eye on how long it is before any major event, like Photoshop World, or Macworld Expo, or my vacation. |
3) |
Dictionary/Thesaurus—I use this daily when writing books and articles. Indispensable. |
4) |
Unit Converter—I use the currency converter when buying things from other countries. |
5) |
Translation—I get emails from readers of my books from around the world. This helps. |
6) |
Wikipedia—This saves me a trip to the Web (especially good for pop culture and learning about people in my industry). |
7) |
White Pages—Again, it just saves me from searching around the Web. |
8) |
World Clock—Anytime a friend is traveling, or I’m traveling, or I’m working with someone in another time zone, I have a clock open for that time zone. |
9) |
Calculator—It keeps me from having one in my Dock. |
10) |
Flight Tracker—Clearly, I travel too much. |
