Benefit 3: Build Sites That Allow Customers to Participate Online

You can develop database-driven sites to promote products and foster online communities. The interactive features enable two-way communication with visitors, who can do all of the following:

  • Share feedback by entering comments
  • Take part in forum discussions
  • Submit forms to communicate with your client's business
  • Upload images and files
  • Purchase products online

By providing immersive site features that keep customers coming back for more, you can generate brand loyalty and encourage repeat purchases. You can even create password-protected areas, called secure zones, that enable members to log in to access premium content in a part of the site that's not searchable or available to the general public (see Figure 3).
