Macromedia's Fireworks MX is the companion graphics tool to Dreamweaver MX and Flash MX. With it you can create graphics tailored specifically for the Internet. The trick is finding your way around the myriad of tools and panels. As with all of Macromedia's tools, Fireworks can perform a huge number of tasks—almost to a fault. You can easily become lost in the roles and responsibilities of all the panels. What you need is a power tool that allows you to deploy specialized effects quickly and without too much effort. This tool is commands (see Figure 1).
