Eric Karjaluoto is creative director, and a founding partner, of the creative agency smashLAB. Since 2000, he has helped a broad range of clients including The Vancouver Aquarium, lululemon, athletica, and the University of Minnesota with their strategic, design, and communication challenges. His work has been recognized by TIME, Graphis, and Icograda. In 2007, he spearheaded Design Can Change to unite designers and address climate change. The organization was selected by TIME Magazine for inclusion in its annual Design 100—a list of “the people and ideas behind today’s most influential design.” Eric writes about design at ideasonideas and has spoken at events for the AIGA, SEGD, and GDC for groups ranging from 50 – 6,000. He is the author of Speak Human (Outmarket the Big Guys by Getting Personal).
