David Basulto

David Basulto is the media arts and animation instructor at award-winning San Marino High School in Southern California. The program is part of the Los Angeles County Regional Occupational Program (LACOROP). In his first three years of teaching, his students have won Silver and Bronze medals in the LACOROP annual competition. His students have gone on to such film schools as USC, Emerson, and NYU Tisch. Basulto brings years of production and post-production experience to his classroom from a successful career producing feature films and television for firms like Icon Entertainment and Lifetime Television. His films have won awards at many film festivals, including the Toronto Film Festival. After seeing the shift to digital, he dove head first into learning as many tools as possible and fell in love with the iPad.

Outside the classroom, Basulto is an avid reviewer and influencer in the post-production community. He is writing a book and producing a video training course called Media Arts 101 (Peachpit Press, 2014). He writes for Post Magazine and his own site Filmmaking Central. He is an Adobe Educational Leader and a fanatic about using iPads for teaching, content creation, and social media. His wildly successful mobile media cases for the iPhone and iPad called the iOgrapher (iographer.com) have won critical acclaim.
