If you're a system administrator, then you may already know that Apple Remote Desktop comes with over 30 Automator actions. But, what you may not know is that you can extend this set of actions even further by installing an additional ARD action pack.
If you're a system administrator, then you may already know that Apple Remote Desktop comes with over 30 Automator actions to help you automate things like copying items to remote machines, ejecting disks on remote machines, force quitting applications on remote machines, and more. But, what you may not know is that you can extend this set of actions even further by installing an additional ARD action pack.
You can download the ARD Action Pack here.
This action pack provides 16 additional actions for Apple Remote Desktop, including the following:
Display Message: Use this action to display, in a large transparent gray window, the remote computer's computer name, IP address, uptime, or even your own custom message. A corresponding Stop Message Display action is also included.
Force Quit Remote Application: Apple Remote Desktop already comes with an action to force quit all applications. This action, however, adds the ability to force quit a single specified application.
Present Remote Movie: Use this action to begin a full-screen presentation of a QuickTime movie. This action would be particularly useful when running remote Macs as kiosks.
