Text clippings are an important part of my daily iPhone workflow, allowing me to quickly provide detailed common responses to emails while on the go, maintain multiple email signatures, keep track of important phone call notes, and more. Recently, I discovered Pastebot, a handy iPhone clipboard manager that has made a tremendous difference in my iPhone clipping workflow.
Text clippings are an important part of my daily iPhone workflow. They allow me to quickly provide detailed common responses to emails while on the go, maintain multiple email signatures, keep track of important phone call notes, and more. Unfortunately, managing these clippings hasn't always been the easiest. I've tried the Notes application, 1Password, and even the Mail application. While these have all worked, I've still wanted something more. Then, I discovered Pastebot. This little app serves as an iPhone clipboard manager, and it works very, very well.
When Pastebot launches, it automatically imports anything currently found on the iPhone's clipboard, whether it's text or an image. It then displays its preview in a list of imported clippings. Simply tap one to copy it back to the clipboard, ready for pasting into another app.

Pastebot, however, does more than simply store your clippings. It allows you to edit them too. To do so, tap the arrow to the right of the desired clipping to enter an edit mode. While in edit mode, the full content of the clipping is displayed.
For larger image clippings, pinch, zoom, and scroll as needed, to browse the image. You can even apply filters to your images clippings, allowing you to easily adjust the brightness, convert to black and white, and more. Just tap the gear icon in the button bar at the bottom of the editor to display a list of available filters.

As you would expect, text clippings can also be edited. Pastebot provides a number of useful text filters too, including ones that convert text to uppercase, find and replace, and more.

As your list of clippings grows, organization will become even more important. To help, Pastebot allows you to create folders, into which you can move your clippings. And, of course, Pastebot allows you to email clippings.
One of my favorite features of Pastebot is its ability to synchronize clipboard content with my Mac. This is done with the help of a free downloadable companion utility. Once installed and paired with your iPhone, simply tap and hold on a clipping in Pastebot to instantly transfer it to your Mac's clipboard. Likewise, copy something to your Mac's clipboard, and it's instantly copied to your iPhone's clipboard.
