  • Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro 4, by Diana Weynand (Peachpit Press, 2003, ISBN: 0321186494). If you're driving into Final Cut Pro for the first time, this book touches a little of everything and is self-paced. It's written with the beginner and visual learner in mind and includes exercises. Don't expect details as it would overwhelm its audience.
