User Interface Engineer
Last updated Aug 19, 2005.
While the Web designer or graphic designer may design the site's interface, the user interface engineer keeps them on task and sets development guidelines. A user interface engineer could be required to know various programming languages, HTML, and scripting, and would be responsible for writing product or design specifications, determining the work flow and page layout, and identifying process improvements. He or she would also be involved with designing templates, style sheets (CSS), prototypes, and W3C recommended standards.
