Standards Compliance

Complying with standards means following the rules set down by the organized bodies that develop them. In the case of the Web, standards have been available since the very beginning, but only now are Web designers and developers turning to them in a serious way. Part of the reason for this is simply the rapid growth of the Weblearning the rules takes time! Another issue is that there is no authoritative body overseeing Web standards. Rather, several consortiums and standards organizations share the role of producing standards. The advantages of standards compliance are many, and this section will detail exactly what those advantages are.
