Photoshop author and instructor Matt Kloskowski takes a first look at the newest and coolest features in the brand new Photoshop Express beta.

Adobe Photoshop Express is a brand new web service geared for consumers who want to get their photos online, do some quick polishing—and maybe even some special effects—and finally, share their photos with other people. Photoshop Express is all online and, even better, it’s all free. Since the Photoshop Express beta was just released, I decided to whip up my top 10 favorite features to help get you going.

Black And White

If Photoshop Express could offer only one special effect, I'd say it would need to have a good Black and White effect...and, it does! Express’s Black and White feature is neat because you get to choose between several black and white adjustments for any photo, which is important because not all black and whites are created equal. If you have a lot of sky in a photo, for example, the black and white adjustment needed would be different than the one you'd use for, say, that of a portrait.
