Flipping an Image

When working with an image, you may want to flip it to create a reversed image. This might simply be for composition or layout purposes. You might also need to fix an image that is a reflection, or compensate for a scanned negative that was loaded backwards or upside-down. Fortunately, Aperture can easily flip images horizontally, vertically, or both ways.

  1. Select the image Kids 19 in the Browser.

The client would like the image flipped for composition purposes.

  2. If the Flip controls are not shown in the Adjustments inspector, choose Flip from the Add Adjustments pop-up menu.

The image is flipped horizontally as soon as the adjustment is applied. If you want to modify the flip, you can click the type pop-up menu and choose Horizontal, Vertical, or Horizontal & Vertical.
