Positioning Graphic Elements

You can position elements visually by dragging them around the Stage using the selection tool. You can also position a selected item numerically by entering its x- and y-coordinates in the Property inspector or the Info panel.

To position elements numerically

  1. Select an element on the Stage and open the Property inspector and Info panel.

The Property inspector’s Position and Size section displays coordinates for the element’s registration point red-circle-a.jpg. The Info panel can display coordinates for the element’s registration point or transformation point red-circle-b.jpg. (See the sidebar “How Flash Tracks Elements” in this chapter.)

  2. To set the element’s horizontal position, use the X hot-text control to enter a new x-coordinate in either panel.
  3. To set the element’s vertical position, use the Y hot-text control to enter a new y-coordinate in either panel.
