Either technique will enable you to transfer files from one computer to another. Just drag files from one open window to another. If the source window happens to be on your Mac and the destination window happens to be on your PC, you'll be sharing files between the two computers.

Personally, I like opening Windows folders on my Mac. The Mac, after all, is my primary workplace.

Maria Langer is a freelance writer who has been writing about computers since 1990. She is the author of the runaway bestseller Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger: Visual QuickStart Guide (Peachpit Press 2005, ISBN 0321305264), about 60 other books, and hundreds of articles. When she's not teaching her band of computers to play nice, she's probably out roaming the skies of Arizona in her helicopter. Visit her on the web at http://www.marialanger.com.
