Toast Titanium

The most recent release of Roxio’s Toast Titanium is the first commercial product to offer Mac users access to video recorded using a TiVo. Toast’s TiVoToGo feature enables you to view TiVo devices on your home network and to copy recorded programs to your Mac. Toast can then convert them for playback on an Apple TV and drop them into your iTunes library. For Mac users who are also TiVo subscribers this is a huge feature because it enables you to permanently archive your TiVo content as part of your iTunes library.

In addition to access to TiVo content, Toast also includes a number of other tools for working with audio and video and for burning content to CD, DVD, and Blu-ray disc. One of these features is the ability to capture video from a DVD and to encode it for Apple TV or iPod playback. Although HandBrake offers this ability at no cost, Toast might be more appealing for some users because it provides a simpler and more user-friendly interface with extensive help files.
