I really like how this book is written. It is easy to understand and has some very useful information that is presented clearly and in a much more straightforward manor than a majority of other photography books I have read. That's the good part. What I did not particularly like about the book is that it is very basic and presents very little specific information about the Canon 7D.Perhaps it was my own expectations of what the book should be that formed my negative opinion, but I really felt that if I bought a book about the 7D, there should be much more specific information about the 7D. Instead, about 80% of the book could have been written for any camera. I was hoping to see more information about when to use some of the great advanced features this camera has, but very few are touched on. Instead, much of the book goes into how to get the right exposure, frame good shots, etc... Some of the book does go into the controls of the 7D and how to get certain... Read more

I purchased the Kindle edition and agree that the author has annotated all of the book's photos with tiny typographic callouts and (apparently) helpful hints that, unfortunately, are completely illegible on the Kindle version. When an image/caption is viewed in-line, these callouts are simply too small to be read. When you click the photo to enlarge the image/caption, the resolution is inadequately low and the typographic callouts are simply a blur.Very, very unfortunate.

Most books on cameras are just expanded camera manuals. This book actually tells you how to use the camera. Much more enjoyable to read than the other camera books.
