5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best CS6 book out there... required reading for the new version, November 13, 2012

I have Classroom in a Book and have taken several online courses as I've been an Avid editor for over 12 years. Now that Adobe Premiere CS6 has surpassed anything Avid has ever turned out, this book is really required. Lots of info not in any other literature on Premiere CS6.

5.0 out of 5 stars Harrington, Carman, Greenberg and Premiere Pro....love it!, September 16, 2012

This review is from: An Editor's Guide to Adobe Premiere Pro (2nd Edition) (Paperback)
Buy a book or watch online tutorials? Switch NLEs? The past two years have been the wild west for both professionals and those learning the craft of editing. Not only do these three prove that asking the question, "Who edited this?" is better than "What was this editied on?", they prove that knowing the tools, organizing your stuff, and trying new approaches brings about the creativity we all want to show the world.

I've been doing this for 20+ years, but I have no ego about saying I have learned a great deal from these three professionals through this book. As an editor and educator, do not hesitate to consider this for the personal, professional, or educational development. "Harrington, Carman, and Greenberg" might sound like that law firm you don't want to go up against, but these three share more than most will about CS6 Premiere Pro and how to do great work.

So, yeah, you want this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Home Run, September 9, 2012
It's great that three of my favorite trainers have teamed up to share their wealth of knowledge in this one book. Over the past several years I've attended live trainings with Richard, Robbie and Jeff, and for me the one thing that sets them apart is their ability to simply explain our sometimes complex and confusing workflow. It's great to have their combined wisdom together in one book. It's like having them sitting by my side. I think this is a must have for anyone moving to Adobe Premier Pro. So much helpful info together in one place. Thanks for making my life a little bit easier.

Updates & Corrections

The text on the Editor's Guide to Adobe Premiere Pro "Updates" tab should read as follows:

The file, jacket.mov, included with the assets for The Editor's Guide to Adobe Premiere Pro, used a video codec many users many not have installed. When attempting to relink the media files, many users will receive a warning message explaining that a necessary codec is missing. A replacement jacket.mov file has been created (available via the link below), using a common codec. To use the new file, browse to the book's folder you copied to your hard drive, and then to the Lessons and Media/Media/Footage folder, where you will find the original jacket_1.mxf.xmp file. Copy the new file into that folder, and choose to replace the original file with the newer one in the dialog box that will appear.
