Changing Curves and Corner Points

If you retract the handle that extends out from a curve point, the next segment becomes a straight line.

To retract a handle:
  1. Drag to create a smooth curve point.
  2. Move the Pen cursor back over the anchor point. A small angle symbol appears next to the cursor.
  3. Click. The handle retracts back into the anchor point. The point is now a corner point with only one handle square11.gif.
  4. Continue the path with either a straight line or a curved line.

If you create a corner point with no control handles, you can extend a single handle out from that anchor point.

To extend a handle from a point:
  1. Click to create a corner point with no handles.
  2. Move the Pen cursor back over the anchor point you just created. A small angle symbol appears next to the cursor.
  3. Drag to pull a single handle out from the anchor point square12.gif.
  4. Continue the path with a curved line.
