Adding Tracks to a Session

When you first set up a session, you will often want to add more than one track. You can use the New Tracks dialog to create multiple tracks of different types.

To create a new track:

  1. Choose Track > New.

    The New Tracks dialog appears (Figure 4.28).

  2. Select a track type from the Track Type pop-up menu (Figure 4.29).

  3. Select a format for the track from the Track Format pop-up menu (Figure 4.30).

    MIDI and Video tracks do not have a format choice.

  4. Type the number of tracks to create.
  5. Click Create.

To create multiple track types:

  1. Choose Track > New.

    The New Tracks dialog appears (Figure 4.28).

  2. Click the plus sign to add rows to the dialog (Figure 4.31).

  3. In each row, select the track type and track format from the corresponding pop-up menus.
  4. Click Create.

    The tracks are added to the session in the order they were designated in the New Tracks dialog.
