Getting Started with Photo Story 3

Unfortunately, as I mentioned at the beginning of the article, the focus of the article is on tools for Windows XP. Sorry. With my apologies aside, let's jump in.

Photo Story is a product that Microsoft shipped with Windows XP Plus! Digital Edition (see Figure 5). The role of Photo Story is to create movies with your images. The movies can then be shared by email, through a web site, or on video—CD or DVD.

The success of Photo Story is that it is really easy to use.

If you have Photo Story 2, you can get Photo Story 3 for free. All you have to do is go to the Photo Story 3 web site and select the Download button. Microsoft is playing around with a new way to authenticate so that your copy of Windows XP is not pirated (it can take a few minutes to get past this, but it is worth it).

The following exercise shows you just how quickly you can create a movie with Photo Story 3.
