Add to a Shape to Create a Shape

Sometimes it’s easier to create a simple shape and then add to it with more anchor points. For example, to create a map pointer, draw a rectangle with the Rectangle tool (M) and then use the Add Anchor Point tool (+) to add three anchor points along the bottom. Press A to get the Direct Selection tool, then click-and-drag out the middle of the three anchor points you added. There you have it!
