What is an ISBN?
ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number. This number is assigned to each product to ease tracking by publishers and resellers as well as consumers. Providing our customer support staff with this number will allow us to respond most efficiently and effectively to your request.

Where do I find my ISBN?
You will find the ISBN on the bottom right corner of the back cover of your book or software box cover, next to the UPC symbol. If you have a PDF product, you'll find the ISBN on the cover page. If you have an online video, the ISBN can be found on your Account page or the product catalog page on our Web site.

What if I received a defective CD/DVD with my book?
If you have the chance, try using the CD/DVD in another CD/DVD drive and see if you experience the same problem. If you’re using a DVD, please make sure you’re using it in a drive that is capable of reading DVDs.

If you find that you’re still experiencing problems, send an e-mail to with the title and ISBN of the book with which the CD/DVD was included. Describe the problem you’re having with the CD as well as whether you are using the CD on a Windows-based machine or a Macintosh (please note which version of the operating system you’re using). Include your mailing address with your e-mail and, if the CD/DVD is defective, we will be happy to replace it.

I believe my product has a mistake in it. Where can I find information about it on the site?
Any verified errors (errata) for our books are addressed on the product page. You can find this page by searching for the title, author, or ISBN in the search field at the top of the page, browsing the Store, or searching on our Product Support page. Click the "Updates" tab on the product page to find errata.

If you would like to submit an error, please send an e-mail to with detailed information about the product and the suspected error.

My new book is missing pages, has repeated pages, or is in some other way defective.
Please send an email to with your book’s exact title and ISBN. If you have an e-receipt for the book, please forward that as well. Tell us which pages are missing or repeated, or what other defect you have found in your book, and we’ll get you a replacement as quickly as possible.

How do I open a corporate account for bulk purchases?
For corporate bulk purchases for US companies (minimum of 25 copies), you can EMAIL the details of your inquiry if you need to set up an account. You can also call customer service at 800-992-0579. If you already have an account, you can register to use OASIS to request quotes and place orders. Corporate orders are subject to tax and shipping charges.

How do I request permission to copy or excerpt your content?
Requests to use any of the content published by Peachpit Press (which includes New Riders Press, Adobe Press, and Apple Pro Training should be sent to us in writing at In order to process your request, please include the following information:

  • The full title of the product
  • ISBN
  • The page(s) you wish to copy (please list exactly which pages and the figure numbers for any artwork)
  • The number of copies you want to make OR the Web site where the excerpt will be posted, and for how long
  • Whether you will be charging a fee for accessing the material
  • Whether you have a deadline, and when
  • The name of the organization/company/institution you represent
  • Your full name and title
  • UPS shipping address (not a P.O Box)

Permissions requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and we make every effort to review requests in a timely fashion. However, it can take up to 3 weeks for a request to be processed.
