The Results

The tangible result of Molly's work is a 127-page book titled Adobe Acrobat for the Modern Law Office, which she created and distributed throughout Young Conaway. This comprehensive training guide includes specific Acrobat instructions the lawyers and support staff need to get through their busy days. Other noticeable results that Young Conaway achieved include the following:

  • Reduction in time required for common legal tasks: Internal firm estimates show that paralegals and LAAs who use Acrobat on a daily basis are 33 percent more productive. In cases of redaction, the productivity improvements are even more pronounced. Redactions that previously took days can be accomplished in minutes with Acrobat Pro or Pro Extended.
  • Easier document creation, filing, and accessibility: Previously, it took hours to find and assemble documents. But with Acrobat and the document management system, case documents can be found and assembled in minutes.
  • Strengthening of legal cases: The ability to easily document content and quickly search documents has strengthened Young Conaway's legal cases. In one case, Molly's team saved an opposing plaintiff's complete website as a PDF. When the plaintiff later took down the website and provided testimony that was contradictory to the website's content, Molly was able to show the PDF to counter the plaintiff's defamation claim. Even more remarkable is that the content was saved as a video that was preserved by Acrobat 9 in the PDF file as Flash video.
