Next, we'll create some very simple artwork to which the transition and action will be applied. To make the artwork fun enough to enjoy the effect (even in a tutorial), we'll apply a gradient fill. Follow these steps:
- Press L to activate the Ellipse tool. Draw an ellipse, and assign location and dimensions on the Common tab of the Properties panel:
- X: 200
- Y: 50
- W: 500
- H: 500
- Expand the Fill section of the Common tab. Click the Gradient fill swatch. Assign a gradient rotation of 0 degrees. Select a medium blue as the first fill color and white as the second color (see Figure 3).

Close enough! In real life you'd probably create more elaborate artwork, but for our purposes this gradient-filled circle will suffice.
