SUPER SIZING LAYERS
When I lack the hand-eye coordination it takes to perfectly size layers by their resize handles, I switch to using keyboard shortcuts. With a layer already selected, I use Ctrl+Any arrow key (Option+Any arrow key) to size the layer pixel by pixel. For extra fun, try using Ctrl+Shift+Any arrow key (Option+Shift+Any arrow key) to change the layer's size by 10-pixel increments. If you've enabled View > Grid > Snap to Grid, the shortcuts mentioned here work together with that feature, providing similar results and perhaps even speeding things up for you more. Dreamweaver is even smart enough to update your style sheet if you've defined the width and height externally.
