Create a Digital Page
To create a digital scrapbooking page in Photoshop, follow these steps:
Choose File, New.
Set the width and height to 12 inches and the resolution to around 150, so you have a good-size image for printing.
Using the Layer palette, select the current layer and fill it with a solid background color, or use Filter, Render, Clouds to create a patterned background to which you can apply other filters or colors, to create more interest.
To add photos, open the photo files, drag and drop them onto your page, and size them as desired. A good design rule is to use an odd number of photos and to ensure that the most important one is larger than the rest.
A photo on a paper scrapbook page often is matted with colored or patterned cardstock. In Photoshop, you do this using a filled rectangular shape on a new layer:
Set the foreground color to the color to use, or, if desired, sample a color from the photo using the Eyedropper tool.
Add a new layer, and select the Rectangle tool and click its Fill Pixels option.
Drag to create a filled rectangle just a little larger than the photograph. Move the layer below the photograph layer. You can repeat this to add multiple mats of different colors to your photograph.
To create a page title, use a color sampled from the photo or page background, if desired, and use the text tool and a large font to type the title.
