Anne-Marie Yerks

Anne-Marie Yerks is an author, instructor, fine artist, and designer who specializes in graphics and interface design with Macromedia software. She has taught HTML and Web design at George Mason University and George Washington University. Currently, she develops Web sites and kiosks for the University of Michigan. She has contributed articles to numerous publications about the Web, and has co-authored two books about the Internet. She is in the process of developing a series of Web animations that will go online in late 2001.

John Pickett is a 20-year-old student with plans on majoring in Computer Science at the University of Utah. He is also co-owner of a small Web firm, Blurred Vision Studios L.L.C. (http://www.bvstudios.com), located in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has been using HTML since he was 15 years old, while only expanding his view to business site creation in the past two years. John began using Dreamweaver during version 2.

Blaine Tait is an instructor at Durham College in Ontario, Canada, teaching a variety of Web-based courses such as HTML, JavaScript, Flash Web Animation, Interface Design for the Web, and of course, Dreamweaver. Blaine also operates his Web design and multimedia company, Omnidirectional Studios, just outside of Toronto. They offer computer-based solutions for business, including print and Web design, and rich media creation (Shockwave and Flash animation, 3D content and animation, digital audio, and e-commerce setup and implementation).

Blaine uses Macromedia Dreamweaver in his day-to-day work with Omni. He also uses a host of other Macromedia software in combination with Dreamweaver, such as Flash, Fireworks, and Freehand, as an end-to-end Web-content creation and maintenance system.

Matthew David has been working with multimedia and Web Technologies for over 6 years. He has contributed to books, such as the Dreamweaver Bible, Flash 5 Magic, and Flash: Visual Insight, and he regularly contributes to Element K Journals' Multimedia Development and Design magazine. He has written over a dozen online courses and is the lead instructor for Allen Interactions. In addition to writing, Matthew is an Intranet consultant.

Laura Gutman has worked as a graphic designer for 13 years and a multimedia developer for 10 years. Before that, she was a violinist, technical writer, law student, and professional academic. She earned her Ph.D. in English from the University of St. Andrews (Scotland). Currently, Laura lives with her dog, parakeets, and hundreds of computer toys in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She keeps busy doing freelance development, design and consulting work on multimedia, and Web projects. She also teaches a range of courses in Web design, multimedia design, and programming at the University of New Mexico and at Caliente Media Center (New Mexico's only authorized Macromedia training facility).
