File Handling Preferences

The next tab in the Preferences dialog is the File Handling settings (FIGURE 4.7).

The default setting for Reading Metadata is satisfactory unless you feel you need to work with "." or "/" as keyword separators. Commas are most often used as the standard delimiter or separator in most database programs. But I do set my preference for the File Name Generation based on avoiding the illegal filename characters discussed in Chapter 3. In other words, I place underscores as replacements for any illegal characters and spaces.
