Smaller .FLA Files
Recently, I had to post an 8.4Mb Flash document (the .FLA) to a Web server. I have a high-speed connection, so it wouldn't have taken too long to upload, but I knew there was a better way.
Open up any Flash file in Flash MX 2004, and choose File > Save and Compact.
This little feature turned my 8.4Mb monster into a 1.7Mb upload. Although Macromedia Director users are used to this feature, the Save and Compact feature is just ... well ... neato to us Flash nerds.
