The Polygonal Lasso tool

The regular Lasso tool can be difficult to control with a mouse, but the Polygonal Lasso tool is another easy way to draw a complicated path. It only draws straight lines between clicks of the mouse.

  1. Select the Polygonal Lasso tool.
  2. Click once in the image.
  3. Click a second time and a selection line appears between the two clicks. Every time you click, another straight line connects that point to the previous point.
  4. To close the path and make the selection, click on the original first-click point. Or double-click—wherever you double-click, that line will snap to the beginning point.
