These days, unless you have some very specific photographic needs that demand particular pieces of equipment, chances are that you can get away with less gear, bulk, and weight than you may have realized. After all, even the most glorious of all lenses won't do you a lick of good if you've ditched it in your hotel room and don't have it with you when photographic opportunity strikes.
So the next time you travel, consider gearing down, packing up, and heading out with a little less weight on your shoulders, so to speak. You just might find that bringing less ultimately gives you more.
