Tip 5: Add Spark
Everyone knows what it's like to produce a dull, sleep-inducing story. Most likely, it happens when you're barely awake as you're writing it.
As you're developing your content, do you feel that it lacks spark? Take a break. Try to recall a movie in which you were totally absorbed. Think of a game or a song so seductive that you forgot where you were. Consider a TV show that you didn't want to end, or a series that you record because you can't wait to watch the next episode. Then think about these questions:
- What drew you in?
- How did it start?
- What cliffhangers kept you intrigued?
- What puzzles did you want to solve?
- What dangers made your pulse race?
- How did it end?
The more you know about what excites you, the more likely that you'll be able to add spark to your own content.
