One of the biggest challenges of building a following on any social network is being consistent in your approach. Consistency allows your followers to depend on you on a regular basis. If you're known for posting three photos a day, your followers will expect to see new images from you within that timeframe. If you suddenly stop posting the content for which you're known, you'll alienate some of your followers. The best tool to fight this challenge is to develop a specific social networking strategy from the start, for each network where you have—or are trying to build—a following.
