Shadows
Shadows provide depth and add mood to an image. If you photograph shadows during the golden hours (sunrise and sunset), when the sun is low and the shadows are long, you give your image a sense of still and calm. If you photograph shadows when the light is harsh and the shadows are strong, it creates tension in the image (Figure 4.20).
