Preparing Your Images for Success
Once you’ve captured your images, it’s time to perform magic on the computer. Modern HDR programs shave hours off the time it used to take a photographer to manually blend images in Photoshop, and days off the time it took to achieve similar results in the darkroom. There are many HDR programs, and they all operate a little differently. All, however, can produce both surreal and realistic results. The surreal look is relatively easy to achieve without any coaching; creating a realistic image is more of a challenge. In this chapter, I show you how to prepare your images for the HDR process using Adobe Lightroom. In the next chapter, I delve into creating HDR photos using Lightroom and Photomatix.
