Creating a New Template

You can also create new templates that fit your specific needs. A template can include nearly anything that a project can include, meaning that you can set up one or more projects just the way you like and have them available immediately as a template. As you get more experience in Cubase, you'll probably want to create your own templates to save time.

To create a new template

  1. Set up a project exactly as you want it, including active inputs, routing, tracks, plug-ins, and virtual instruments.
  2. Choose File > Save as Template ( Figure 3.26 ).

  3. In the Save as Template dialog box that opens, give the template a name and click OK ( Figure 3.27 ).

  4. To use the template, choose File > New Project and select it from the Templates list ( Figure 3.28 ).
