Attached Files

Another reason to upgrade to Reader 8 is the ability to extract attached files. Once again, using Acrobat 8 Professional, you can enable the document for commenting and then attach files to it. Think of PDF as a briefcase where you can hold images, audio, Microsoft Word documents, and so on, and then email one self-contained package to your clients. They can then open the attachments with Reader 7 or later, make their comments, add some different photos, save the document, and send it all back inside one PDF. It's like ZipIt or StuffIt for PDF but without the compression features. It's also a great way to get files through a firewall because rarely does an IT department block a PDF file.
