Search for More

The search box at the top of the main window can be used for quite complex searches. Entering Apple & Microsoft returns messages containing both the words Apple and Microsoft, whereas entering Apple | Microsoft returns messages containing Apple or Microsoft. A search with the terms Apple ! Microsoft finds the messages containing Apple but not Microsoft. You can make things more complex by adding terms in parentheses. A search for Apple & (Microsoft | Adobe) finds messages containing Apple and Microsoft, and also Apple and Adobe. When you’re done, click the Save button at the top right of the window to create a Smart Mailbox based on the search that will keep your results for later use.

Figure 9

Figure 9 Finding messages using a single search term can be tedious, but you can find stuff much more easily by adding extra terms within a logical expression.
