Due to changes in the availability and features of related products, please make note of the following to the book since it was published.

  1. Change step 1 to read "Before you reduce the size of an image or media file, save your document. Choose File > Save to write the latest version to your hard drive, or choose File > Duplicate to create a copy of the presentation."
  2. Ignore the tip for Step 3 as you can no longer use Save As to save a iWork '08 version of your document.
  3. Change step 7 to read "Choose File > Duplicate then Choose File > Save, name the file 05_Presentation Stage 01.key, and save it to your hard drive."
  4. In Saving a PowerPoint FIle, the Save As menu item is no longer available. Instead, use the following steps to save a PowerPoint file:
    1. Choose File > Export > PPT.
    2. Click Next.
    3. Modify the filename for the document (if desired).
    4. In the Where pop-up menu, select the location where you want to save the PowerPoint file. Click the disclosure triangle to the right of the Save As field if the file browser isn’t visible, and navigate to the desired folder.
    5. Click Export.
      A new PowerPoint file is created.
  5. The answer for question 5 should be “Choose File > Export > PPT.”
