Changing the View mode

Now you’ll see what happens when you change the View mode of the document window using the Mode buttons at the bottom of the Tools panel.

  1. Click and hold down the Mode button (normalpreview.jpg) at the bottom of the Tools panel and choose Preview. Preview mode displays artwork in a standard window, hiding nonprinting elements such as guides, grids, and frame edges.
  2. Now choose Bleed (bleed_preview.jpg) from the Mode menu to preview the document with its predefined bleed area that extends beyond the page boundaries.
  3. Select Slug (slugpreview.jpg) from the Mode menu to preview the document with the predefined slug area.
  4. The slug area is an area outside of the page and the bleed area that can contain information, such as printer instructions or job sign-off information.

  5. Finally, select Normal (normalmode.jpg) from the Mode menu to return to Normal view.
