#7: Sanitize Your Document

#7: Sanitize Your Document

Imagine that you work with PDF files that need to be secured before you send them out. I don’t just mean slap some password security on the file; I mean really dig in and remove sensitive information that you don’t want the world to see. Things like metadata, stored form data, comments, links, actions, and more. Of course, Acrobat kindly asks you to save a copy in its customary fashion. This is an easy way to protect your information, but also a way to lighten the file size load a tiny bit (see Figure 11).
