Final Thoughts

I love the idea of capturing inspiration in the form of vector with Adobe Shape. Do I use all of the artwork I create in Shape? Nope, but it’s fun. Most of the time I’m using it to capture rough ideas that I take to Illustrator and fine-tune or start over with. I do love the Pen tool (how many people can say that), and am pretty adept at drawing and editing with it, but starting from existing paths can sometimes be helpful. I like where it’s starting and wish there were more options for fine-tuning the trace, but it’s a version 1 product currently so patience is key. Like a few of the other Adobe apps out there, I’ll wait to see where Adobe Shape goes from here.
