Nathan Shedroff

Nathan Shedroff has been an information and interface designer for over twelve years. He focuses on developing online experiences, building online brand strategies and business models, and developing online communities. Throughout his career, he has worked in several different media and authored several books on multimedia, computers, and information. His electronic experience spans CD-ROMs, kiosks, published titles, application development, and online experiences.

He co-founded vivid studios, a decade-old pioneering company in interactive media. Prior to that, he worked with Richard Saul Wurman as a senior designer at TheUnderstandingBusiness. He earned a BS in Industrial Design, with emphasis in Automobile Design, from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

Nathan is actively defining and developing new understandings of all aspects of experience design, including information and interaction design, communication, visual design, and online brand development. He is a leader in these fields and is constantly innovating as well as sharing those innovations with others.

Nathan was nominated for a Chrysler Innovation in Design Award in 1994 and 1999, a National Design Award in 2001 and, while a student, received an Honorable Mention in the 1987 Unisys Industrial Design Competition.

Nathan Shedroff

Nathan Shedroff has been an information and interface designer for over eight years. He worked with Richard Saul Wurman as a senior designer at The Understanding Business, helping to design the Pacific Bell Smart Yellow Pages and the book, Information Anxiety. He co-founded vivid studios in 1990, leading creative teams in developing new interaction paradigms for digital reference tools, online worlds, and productivity software. Nathan was nominated for a Chrysler Innovation in Design Award in 1994, and lectures regularly at Stanford University and San Francisco State University. He has spoken at numerous industry-related conferences, and university programs in Helsinki and Tampere, Finland, Amsterdam, and San Francisco.
